The Latitude Explorer - Pop-up Roof Tent, Built for Big Adventures
Meet the Latitude Explorer, the rooftop tent built for those who chase adventure — come rain, shine, or sideways drizzle. Crafted from tough aluminium, this sleek design is ready to take on rugged coastlines, misty peaks, and muddy lanes with ease.
When it’s time to set up camp, just pop the gas struts and your home for the night is ready in seconds. No faff, no stress, no battling with poles in the wind.
Inside, an extra-deep base houses a 70mm thick foam mattress and anti-condensation mat, giving you hotel-level comfort under the stars. There’s room for two, and you can even store your bedding inside when it’s closed — freeing up space in your vehicle and making setup effortless.
The Explorer includes side accessory channels and a pair of roof bars, perfect for carrying your bikes, paddleboards, kayaks, or solar panels.
Tough. Quick. Comfortable.
The Latitude Explorer isn’t just a rooftop tent — it’s your all-weather basecamp for exploring every corner of the UK and beyond
Opens in 30 Seconds!
Thanks to the magic of gas struts, popping open your roof tent is a total breeze. Just undo the latches, give it a little push… and voilà! The tent practically unfolds itself. Packing it back down? Just as effortless. An elastic cord swoops in to tuck the tent neatly as it folds, making setup and pack-up feel almost like a superpower.
Extra Practicality
The Explorer roof tent comes ready for action with roof bars already mounted on top—perfect for loading up all your adventure gear. Bikes? Check. Kayaks? Absolutely. Roof boxes? You got it. Solar panels? Why not! They can handle up to 85kg when closed and 25kg when open, so you can bring along all the goodies without a worry. Inside the tent, a built-in LED light with three dimmable settings keeps things cozy and bright—just plug it into a battery pack. And because every adventurer needs a place for all the essentials, there’s overhead storage to stash your camping must-haves safely and within reach.
Slim Design
The Explorer model comes in at only 20cm tall, excluding the roof bars. A small amount of bedding can still be stored inside the Roof Tent, such as a couple of sleeping bags or a lightweight quilt.

Yes, the Explorer is popular on 4x4s and vans thanks to its low 20cm closed profile and roof bars already mounted on top for extra gear. You'll still need bars rated to its 75kg closed weight though. It'll also fit high-top vans, since the closed tent doesn't add to your roof height.
-
Yes. The Latitude Explorer is waterproof and highly weather-resistant, thanks to its heavy-duty rip-stop poly-cotton fabric with a waterproof and UV-resistant coating. Every model has a hydrostatic head rating of 3000 mm, meaning the fabric can handle heavy rain. Construction details like double-stitched seams with silicone backing and durable travel covers further protect against water intrusion while in transit or during storms.

The Explorer's gas struts pop it open in about 30 seconds, quicker than the manual clamshell pull on our soft-shell Pioneer, Pioneer XL and Scout models.

Yes! You can leave your roof tent fitted to your vehicle all year round, so it's always ready for your next adventure. Alternatively, if you prefer to store your roof tent when not in use, you can keep it flat or on its side in a cool, dry place.
Whichever storage option you choose, it's important to air out your roof tent regularly to prevent moisture build-up, condensation and potential mould, keeping it fresh and ready for your next camping trip.
