  • Most vehicles can fit a roof tent as long as they can have roof bars installed. The key thing to check is your roof bar system's dynamic load rating - this needs to exceed the weight of the tent. If you're unsure, check with your roof bar supplier or get in touch with one of our specialists, who are happy to help

  • Once your tent is installed on your roof bars, setting up camp takes just a few minutes. A simple pull on the ladder opens the clamshell folding system and the mattress opens at the same time - before you know it, base camp is complete.

  • Yes - we offer a free fitting service at our HQ in Frome, Somerset. Our expert team will fit your roof tent and show you how it all works. Fittings must be booked in advance, so get in touch to arrange yours.

  • Absolutely. All Latitude roof tents are built for year-round UK weather, with heavy-duty ripstop fabric, double-stitched seams, and a waterproof rating of 3000mm hydrostatic head. The Pioneer is also wind rated to Gale Force 8, so you can stay cosy whatever the season throws at you.

  • Weight varies by model - lighter soft shell tents like the Scout and Pioneer are designed to suit a wider range of vehicles and roof bar load ratings, while the Explorer hard shell is heavier and better suited to 4x4s and vans. Check our range of roof tents for the exact weights.

  • You're off the ground and away from mud, rocks, insects and animals. Setup takes minutes, there's no need for an air bed, and you always have a campsite ready to go wherever you park. Better views, better ventilation, and far more comfortable than a traditional tent.

  • Yes - arguably more comfortable than a traditional ground tent. Every Latitude tent comes with a high-density foam mattress, so there's no need for an air bed. You're off the ground with better airflow, and the unique window and skylight layouts mean you can fall asleep under the stars.

  • You need roof bars fitted to your vehicle, but not necessarily a full roof rack. Most cars can have roof bars installed regardless of roof type, whether you have side rails, mounting points, or a plain roof. The key requirement is that your roof bar system meets the dynamic load rating for your chosen tent. Find out more in our roof tent installation guide
