The Latitude Explorer — Built for Big Adventures 🌦️⛺️

Meet the Latitude Explorer, the rooftop tent built for those who chase adventure — come rain, shine, or sideways drizzle. Crafted from tough aluminium, this sleek design is ready to take on rugged coastlines, misty peaks, and muddy lanes with ease.

When it’s time to set up camp, just pop the gas struts, and boom — your home for the night is ready in seconds. No faff, no stress, no battling with poles in the wind.

Inside, an extra-deep base houses a 70mm thick foam mattress and anti-condensation mat, giving you hotel-level comfort under the stars. There’s room for two, and you can even store your bedding inside when it’s closed — freeing up space in your vehicle and making setup effortless.

And because adventure doesn’t stop when the tent’s up, the Explorer includes side accessory channels and a pair of roof bars, perfect for carrying your bikes, paddleboards, kayaks, or surfboards — ready for whatever the weekend brings.

Tough. Quick. Comfortable.
The Latitude Explorer isn’t just a rooftop tent — it’s your all-weather basecamp for exploring every corner of the UK and beyond 🌄🚙

Thanks to the magic of gas struts, popping open your roof tent is a total breeze. Just undo the latches, give it a little push… and voilà! The tent practically unfolds itself. Packing it back down? Just as effortless. An elastic cord swoops in to tuck the tent neatly as it folds, making setup and pack-up feel almost like a superpower.

Opens in 30 Seconds!

The Explorer roof tent comes ready for action with roof bars already mounted on top—perfect for loading up all your adventure gear. Bikes? Check. Kayaks? Absolutely. Roof boxes? You got it. Solar panels? Why not! They can handle up to 85kg when closed and 20kg when open, so you can bring along all the goodies without a worry.

Inside the tent, a built-in LED light with three dimmable settings keeps things cozy and bright—just plug it into a battery pack and chill.

And because every adventurer needs a place for all the essentials, there’s overhead storage to stash your camping must-haves safely and within reach.

Extra Practicality

The Explorer model comes in at only 20cm tall, excluding the roof bars. A small amount of bedding can still be stored inside the Roof Tent, such as a couple of sleeping bags or a lightweight quilt.

Questions? Let us help.

  • If you have chosen to fit your Roof Tent yourself, you will have a guide with step-by-step instructions on how to assemble and install your Roof Tent. Alternatively, you can come to our HQ in Frome, Somerset, and our expert team will fit it for you free of charge.

We have video fitting guides on the respective product pages.

  • The roof load limit can be a confusing subject, as many vehicles and roof bar limits are around 75kgs. “But the weight of the roof tent plus me and any others inside will be much more than this” we hear you say.

    However, don’t worry!

These weight limits are dynamic load ratings. This means it’s the weight limit when the vehicle is in motion, so when you and others are inside the roof tent when it’s stationary, this figure isn’t relevant and the static load rating is substantially higher and not an issue.

The forces applied whilst the vehicle is moving, such as air resistance at speed, braking, cornering etc are far more than when your stationary and inside the roof tent.

  • Yes. The Latitude Explorer is waterproof and highly weather-resistant, thanks to its heavy-duty rip-stop poly-cotton fabric with a waterproof and UV-resistant coating. Every model has a hydrostatic head rating of 3000 mm, meaning the fabric can handle heavy rain. Construction details like double-stitched seams with silicone backing and durable travel covers further protect against water intrusion while in transit or during storms.

  • Yes. The Pioneer Explorer is made for all British weathers, with a wind rating to Gale Force 8, so you can be cosy even when it’s windy.

  • We have designed brackets to seamlessly integrate our Wingman Awnings. We have a video here.

  • Yes you can leave our Roof Tents on all year round, alternatively you can store it flat or up on its side somewhere dry.
